Caversham blown away by Ruthless Hurricanes

A chilly Saturday morning greeted this clash with a 9am kickoff as Caversham visited Laurel Park for a second successive week after a Cup win against the Tornadoes last weekend.
A bright start from both teams on a somewhat bobbly pitch but Hurricanes made the breakthrough as a massive kick out of the hand from Kane saw Tommy gallop into the gap between defenders and keeper before cooly slotting home for 1-0.
Within minutes Hurricanes went 2-0 up after a clever substitution saw Harry H first involvement send in a missile of a throw that landed at the feet of Tommy to get a second.

Hurricanes went on to dominate the first half as Josh ‘el toro’ and Albie had good possession in wide positions well backed up by full backs Easton and Jayden.

Halftime arrived with a well deserved 2-0 lead.

The second half started in similar fashion to the first as Caversham were snuffed out by the uncompromising defending from Freddie, Charlie and Harry V.
Chances were far and few between as the battles continued in the centre of the park with the solid Hurricanes midfield of Spencer,Owen, Thady and Achint showing good qualities to create turning defensive situations into attacking breaks.
Ten minutes from the final whistle and Albie received the ball wide and supplied Tommy in the penalty box to complete his Hatrick.
The game was won at this stage but in the final minute another long clearance from Kane ended up in possession of Tommy who finished with a sublime strike to make it 4-0.

The final whistle went on another excellent home performance with many outstanding displays. Plenty of hard work was observed today but man of the match went to two players for outstanding attacking and defensive displays. Congratulations to Tommy and Freddie.
