End to end stuff

Another close game for the girls today, in very windy conditions (and pitch with a big slope). Laurel took a little while to get fully going in the first half, but started to play some nice passing football, enabling them to create a number of scoring chances. Both teams struck the woodwork before half time, and both keepers (with Poppy doing a great job for Laurel) made some excellent saves.
AFC got the breakthrough mid-way through the second half, with an unstoppable shot into the top corner. Libby unfortunately came off the worse from a one-on-one with an AFC player and went down heavily on her left arm [trip to A&E after the game - hope all ok Libby] but she managed to raise a smile when Emma finished off a well worked team goal 10 minutes before full time.
A number of solid individual performances today, and great teamwork from the girls to come back from behind again to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
