What an amazing day.

Huge thanks to all of the players, managers, coaches, assistants, helpers and stall runners, for making yesterday such a fantastic day - even the odd downpour didn't dampen anyone's spirits.

We are still getting over just how well the Fun Day went. nearly 350 Laurel Park children from the local community all playing in 7 different tournaments.

Boys and girls aged all the way from 5 to 19 years old who otherwise would have been stuck in front of a TV of games console, out having fun and celebrating the hardwork of this season.

We think we had in excess of 1,500 people on site yesterday, many of them local residents and members of the community who are not affiliated with Laurel Park, and it was great to see the positive support from so many of you.

The pre-loved football boot stall did solid business right through the day, we haven't had the final numbers in yet but we are hopefully that we will have a good donation to make to The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK.

We also had Amber Stobbs, one of the Reading FC Women players on site who helped to hand out trophies and awards to our girls section and even did a little skills session for some of our lucky girls.
It was also fantastic to see a large group of ex-Laurel Park managers and coaches there supporting the day, and we even had some ex-players with us as well.

We'll be getting our photos up today, but please share any memories of the day on Facebook and we'd love to hear your feedback.

Thank you to all of the volunteers on the day, and all of the things that go on in the background in the months leading up to it, it could not have been the success it was without your teamwork.
