Mini Football Academy 3 of 3

3. Girls Football Development

The club has a thriving girls’ section, with at least one team in all age-groups. Most play in the Berkshire County Girls Football League (BCGFL) and friendly matches start at the Under 7 age group.
As girls football has developed we now attend mini football festivals monthly at various football clubs in the area from U7 before moving to regular weekly Home and Away matches from Under 8’s and upward in the BCGFL.

Our Girls football development squad starts at Under 6 and Under 7 level (Year 1 and 2 at school) and is run by our Honorary President, Michael Schult.

Training is Friday’s at 5.30pm for an hour, on the Laurel Park bottom field from September until the clocks change, before moving to Loddon Valley Leisure Centre until the clocks go forward again.

Mini-match friendlies arranged through BCGFL are generally monthly. During the first season the squad is created and then handed over to a qualified collection of parents and supporters, able to nurture the team going forward.
Michael can start the process again the following September.

The emphasis is on having fun, but also learning how to play a fantastic sport and to grow with your teammates, sharing the skills you have learned, providing the exercise we all need, plus many life skills.
